Jenna Fischer has become best recognized as Pam Beesly, the character she played in The Office. For her character, she was awarded two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and also an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Jenna was born and raised within St. Louis Missouri. Jenna spent her childhood watching her mother, Anne, in church productions. This instilled in her a love for theatre.
After finishing The Office, Fischer, an actress trained in theater, returned to her home base. She starred with Josh Hamilton Leslie Bibb Fred Weller in Neil LaBute's Off Broadway play Reasons for Being Happy. She then starred in Steve Martin's Meteor Shower - an absurdist comedy starring Greg Germanyn as well as Josh Stamberg - for the Old Globe Theatre's first world premiere.
In October 2019, Fischer and The Office cast-mate and real-life best friend Angela Kinsey launched an online podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform, which has gained immense popularity, settling within the Top Ten globally every week and gaining over 200 million downloads over its first two years. Office Ladies, which was first launched in October of 2019 it was nominated for iHeartRadio's Podcast of the Month award for the month of January in 2021.
She is the author of two books. The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide, in which she recounts her experience through St. Louis to Hollywood to become a working actor. She is also the author of Office BFF's: Tales of The Office from Two of the Best Friends That Were There (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) This book provides the story of their greatest friendship and time working for The Office.
